September is “National Preparedness Month” and members of NAPO-GPC and the Philadelphia Mummers first responders received specialized training by Philadelphia’s Office of Emergency Management. The workshop included crisis planning techniques that NAPO-GPC members will share with their clients and communities.
Many of our NAPO-GPC members attended the NAPO Conference 2014 in Phoenix. Can’t wait to attend LA Conference in 2015!
At this year’s shredding event, NAPO-GPC had a table with handouts including Paper Organizing Tips to help people to eliminate paper clutter. News anchor Tracy Davidson once again organized a spectacular event, and our volunteers assisted people with the process of getting their documents shredded. Locals from the Philadelphia area lined up at the Wells Fargo Center to shred sensitive paperwork and help prevent identity theft.
This year’s winners of our Project Thanks drawing were Ted and Kitty Ernwood of Williamstown, NJ. Ted is a retired major who served three tours of duty in Vietnam. NAPO-GPC volunteers spent a day transforming the Ernwood’s cluttered home office into an optimized space for them to work. A new desk was donated by Joe Wuersch of Abbey Installations, Inc., based in Medford, NJ. The next annual drawing will be held on Veteran’s Day 2014.
NAPO-GPC members participated in the ACS Bucks and Montgomery Spring Home Show with a booth to promote our chapter in Warminster, PA. Some of our professional speakers also presented on organizing topics during the ACS Show at the Warminster SMG Sportsplex. Our members shared their expert knowledge on organizing topics with visitors who came to our booths, and with the audience at the live workshops.
For GO (Get Organized) Month this year, NAPO-GPC members participated in three different local home shows. We had booths to promote our chapter at ACS Home Shows in King of Prussia, PA and Pitman, NJ. Some of our professional speakers also presented on organizing topics at the ACS Shows, and the Philadelphia Home Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Our members shared their expert knowledge on organizing topics with visitors who came to our booths, and with the audience at the live workshops.
