MEETINGS

Meeting Information

Professional organizers, potential organizers, and professionals with complementary businesses are invited to attend our monthly NAPO-GPC chapter meetings as visitors prior to joining. The visitor fee is $25 per visit and can be paid on-line with this form or payable by cash or check at the door. Please contact our Membership Director for more information. (Visitors are welcome at most NAPO-GPC events, however the Strategic Planning Meeting, Holiday party and Summer picnic are for our members only. Please check the meeting calendar prior to attending a monthly meeting to ensure it is open to visitors.)

Our members feel that one of the greatest benefits of membership is networking and interacting with others in our field at our monthly meetings. Together we learn more about our profession and how to make our businesses more successful.

Meetings begin promptly at 6:30 PM and conclude at 8:30 PM. Networking among members and visitors occurs prior to the meeting, 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM, and after the meeting for a short time. The Chapter Library is open to members during the 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM networking session.

Each meeting consists of check-in and networking, chapter business, and the monthly program. The program varies each month. NAPO-GPC is committed to providing programming that is educationally beneficial to the membership. Please check the Chapter Calendar for scheduled topics.

Types of Meetings

Monthly Meetings - Held on the third Thursday of each month, except in July and December when chapter social events are held in lieu of meetings. Visitors are welcome at all monthly meetings (visitor fee of $25 per meeting may be paid on-line here or by cash or check at the door). One winter meeting is reserved for a members-only strategic planning meeting. The date of this meeting can be found on the Chapter Calendar.

Board Meetings - Held four to six times annually prior to chapter meetings on the third Thursday of the month, or as scheduled by the president.

Strategic Planning Session (Members Only) – Held each winter, a monthly chapter meeting is reserved for strategic planning. Member feedback is obtained through an open and free-flowing process. Chapter goals for the next year are determined from this meeting.

Strategic Planning Retreat – Board of Directors – Held each spring, the board of directors meets to develop a plan to achieve the goals derived from the membership at the strategic planning session. Priorities are determined in conjunction with the annual budget.

New Member Orientation – Held as needed, they are typically every other month prior to the monthly chapter meeting. In addition to a welcome and introductions, our membership director discusses membership benefits, chapter structure, codes of ethics and conduct, website and e-group usage, and educational and volunteer opportunities.

Golden Circle Meetings – Golden Circle is a prestigious designation earned by those individuals who have been in the business of organizing for no less than five years and have been a NAPO member in good standing for a minimum of one year. NAPO-GPC holds meetings for our Golden Circle members to network, educate, and share.

Small Interest Group Meetings – Small interest groups form and can be formed at any time among members to further enhance education and community.
